The Dutch dominated speed skating again when they swept the podium Tuesday at the men's 10,000m competition. Athletes at the 2014 Sochi Olympics were just as hungry for the top spot on Wednesday.

The Russian men's ice hockey team, expected to win the gold, was knocked out of medal contention in a 3-1 loss to Finland during a quarterfinal game. Finland will go on to face Sweden in the semifinals on Friday. Things also came to an end for Team USA's Bode Miller, who skied what will likely be his last Olympic run in the men's giant slalom event. Fellow American Ted Ligety took the top spot while Miller failed to medal.

Team USA bobsledder Lauryn Williams hoped to become the first woman -- and second person ever -- to win gold medals during the Summer Games and the Winter Games. The Canadian team beat Williams and teammate Elana Meyers to the top spot, however, putting them in second place.

Olympians also fought for first in the men's curling semifinal, the women's figure skating short program and the men's cross-country team sprint final, among other competitions.
