It's day six at the Sochi Olympics and while competition is over for some athletes, it's just beginning for others.

Russian Curler Andrey Drozdov faceplanted during Thursday's match against Switzerland. It was also the first day of the Women's skeleton competition, and top men's figure skater Evgeni Plushenko retired after withdrawing from the Sochi Olympics.

Other top moments included a major crash in women's speed skating during the 500m by Great Britain's Elsie Christie, allowing China's Li Jianrou to win gold unopposed.
