According to Amazon, the top purchased book since January of this year has been John Green's The Fault In Our Stars for nearly every U.S. state. The data combines both book and Kindle eBook sales from January 1 through June 28 of this year.

So, who are the outliers and what are they reading, if not the bestselling love story of two cancer-stricken teens?

In Washington D.C., the top purchased book of 2014 has been Donna Tartt's The Goldfinch: A Novel. No surprise there -- if Hillary Clinton's reading it, then you probably should, too.

Meanwhile, the ever-unique state of Hawaii is reading Dr. Zhi Gang Sha's Soul Healing Miracles: Ancient and New Sacred Wisdom, Knowledge, and Practical Techniques for Healing the Spiritual, Mental, Emotional, and Physical Bodies. Because, Hawaii.
