We've seen plenty of 13-inch laptops with extremely high-resolution screens, but Toshiba's latest laptop/tablet hybrid pushes the envelope by stuffing a true 4K screen (3,840 x 2,160 pixels) into a 12.5-inch device.

For comparison, Dell's XPS 13 has a 3,200 x 1,800 pixel resolution, while Apple's 12-inch Macbook has a 2,560 x 1,600 pixel screen.

Besides having a higher resolution than you'll ever probably need, the Satellite Radius 12's screen has an IPS panel and is Technicolor Color Certified, which should mean great color accuracy and overall screen clarity.

The device will be powered by 6th-gen Intel Core processors, which ideally provide a high performance and a long battery life, but Toshiba's announcement was slim on the details.

We do know, however, that the Satellite Radius 12, housed in an aluminum casing, will be pretty thin and light, with a 0.6-inch profile and weighing 2.9 pounds.

The Toshiba Satellite Radius 12 will become available in the U.S. in the fourth quarter of 2015. The pricing has not been announced.
