Not content to let the city's children be terrified by the usual assortment of Halloween ghosts and goblins, the city of Niagara Falls has introduced a new, horrific goat-man hybrid to promote recycling to youngsters.

Behold, the mascot, "Totes McGoats." No, really, that's his name.

Totes has even been blessed with his own Twitter account.

Totes will visit the area's schools as part of the Niagara Falls Solid Waste Education and Enforcement Team to help promote the city's year-old recycling program and also give everyone nightmares.

What's more, even Niagara Falls Mayor Paul Dyster admits that Totes is a little off-putting, telling Time Warner News: "I guess you would say Totes is a cute animal mascot, kind of scary actually. But having an animal mascot we think is one of the ways that you can reach out to kids and get their attention."

Terrorizing them with a half-man, half-goat hell beast will certainly get their attention.

Twitter, of course, has had its own fun with Totes thus far.
