Chumán Don Luciano is an 83-year-old living in Ferreñafe, Peru, whom locals have lovingly dubbed "Crazy Chumàn."
Chumàn has schizophrenia, and even though he has family and a home, he spends a considerable amount of time on the streets. Because of this, Chumàn had developed a buildup of dirt and grime all over his body, and his hair was matted.

The community of Ferreñafe decided to join together to give their beloved Chumàn a bit of a makeover. Chumàn received a shower and haircut ...
... and even a shave.
Chumàn also received a new set of clothes from the community.
After seeing Chumàn's improved quality of life, the community decided they would endeavor to do more small acts of kindness.
“These humanitarian gestures must continue,” municipality spokeswoman Yesenia Abad Cross told BuzzFeed Español. “Sometimes we are a little indifferent, and forget that they are people like us and need our help.”
