Trackur, the online reputation monitoring system from marketing expert Andy Beal, has significantly lowered its entry price point in order to capture a wider client base. What used to cost $88 per month for the entry level now costs $18 per month. Subsequently, the $188 monthly Pro plan and the $388 monthly Enterprise plan now cost $88 per month and $188 per month respectively.
You may recall Andy Beal from his guest post here at Mashable, where he ran down the 10 tactics for saving your online reputation. Considering the backlash Sarah Lacy faced after the keynote interview with Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg at the SXSW conference less than two weeks ago, Beal found a good opportunity to push the importance of monitoring your online reputation.
What Trackur does is scour the web's blogs, forums and other online publications in order to track items that are pertinent to you. The idea is to keep a watchful eye on what's being said about your company, your employees, or yourself, so that you can take action when need be, and prevent an avalanche of bad press whenever possible. I'm not so sure that would have worked ideally for Lacy, given that the snowball started on Twitter, but any serious entrepreneur out there operating on the web knows that it's a good idea to keep watch on yourself and your competition.
