LONDON -- Felix the cat just proved that if you work hard and put the hours in, recognition will come your way.
The feline, which has been a resident at Huddersfield railway station since she was brought in to deal with rodents in 2011, just received the snazzy new job title of senior pest controller.
New photos were shared on her tribute Facebook page following the promotion, and she’s been celebrating by parading over desks in the station office.
The new role is "recognition of what I've been doing for nearly five years," she told Mashable via Facebook, and comes with an official name tag and a high-visibility jacket she’ll be wearing regularly.
Station staff welcomed Felix to Huddersfield when she was nine weeks old to help with a pest problem. She's been a fixture at the station ever since.
She clearly deserved the new role. In recent days, she's been seen working hard at the ticket counter.
In fact, she's often toiling away behind the scenes and in customer-facing roles.
She gets treats from the TransPennine Express and has won over the hearts of many a commuter.
