Sorry, Daily Show fans -- a repeat episode will just have to do for tonight.

According to a statement from Comedy Central, host Trevor Noah underwent an emergency surgery early Wednesday morning, and is currently recovering.

Trevor underwent an appendectomy, a surgical procedure that removes the appendix, normally performed when the patient is suffering from appendicitis, when the organ becomes inflamed and painful.

The surgery went well, and Noah will be fine, but he does need time to recuperate, and therefore will miss out on taping Wednesday night's episode.

Comedy Central expects that he will heal in time to film tomorrow night's episode. What a trooper.

Meanwhile, fellow late night host and hospital regular Jimmy Fallon reached out with his own well wishes:

Hey @Trevornoah, tell everyone at the hospital I said hey! Get better soon buddy!— jimmy fallon (@jimmyfallon) November 4, 2015

Feel better soon, Trevor!
