HBO's True Blood TV series meets its true death when the seventh and final season wraps up in August, but Sookie Stackhouse and the Bon Temps gang may be revived for a musical.

The show's composer Nathan Barr has pitched True Blood: The Musical to the powers that be at HBO, with help from True Blood star Stephen Moyer, who last year starred and sang in NBC's live musical spectacle of The Sound of Music.

Barr and Boyer presented musical samples to HBO and True Blood creator Alan Ball, the Associated Press reports, and Barr plans to finish a workshop version of it in 2015.

Emphasis in the musical, just like the televised series, would be placed on Sookie Stackhouse, who has telepathic abilities and is portrayed by X-Men's Anna Paquin, Barr told the AP on Tuesday at the True Blood Season 7 premiere event in Los Angeles.
