Truveo Spreads World Love with Tweaked Search Algorithms

Truveo is going global with its improved search algorithm. 17 tweaked international "portals" mean that AOL is sending Truveo's video search tool around the world with localized sites for various countries, with improved search results. Some of the countries are the UK, France, Spain, Turkey, Brazil, Mexico, Italy, Australia, Hong Kong, Korea, Japan and China.

In going global with search algorithm improvements, Truveo is taking on the same concerns that YouTube addressed with its internationally localized sites--providing correct content based on each local demographic. A search for a particular keyword in the US can mean something entirely different in Brazil or the UK.
