Tumblr is making it even easier for users to create their own GIFs.
The company on Tuesday rolled out a new GIF Maker for its iPhone app (Android support is coming soon) that makes creating GIFs from your own videos and images a snap.
To access the new feature, open a new photo post on Tumblr for iPhone. You can pick a video or burst of photos. Tumblr already overlays GIF on top of videos or photo bursts to show what is in your library that's easily GIF-able.
Once you've selected your photo or video, you can adjust the timeline of the GIF, choose how fast or slow you want the animation to appear and you can choose between making it loop or rebound.
Once you've selected what you want, you're done. A tag that says #made with tumblr will be affixed to your posts so you can find other GIFs others have made.
The feature works really well with other insta-GIF apps such as Instagram's new Boomerang app. In fact, I was able to take a Boomerang video I shot and turn it into a GIF in Tumblr in about two seconds.

In my tests, burst modes with photos worked really well too.
Tumblr is just the latest company to jump on the mobile GIF-creation train. In addition to Boomerang, Giphy has a good mobile app. If you've got an iPhone 6S or iPhone 6S Plus, Live GIF is another tool that makes instant GIFs, this time from the videos attached to Live Photos.
