Tumblr's editorial department, which is primarily responsible for telling stories about Tumblr and its users via its Storyboard blog, launched a separate project Tuesday that highlights original content published on the platform.
The blog is called Reblorg and resides at reblorg.com. It has been designed, per a spokesperson's description, as "Tumblr's hub for original creative work," spanning video, animated GIFs, music, collage, poetry, kabuki coding, you name it. Users are asked to submit their work for consideration on the left-hand rail, or by tagging their posts with #reblorg.
Tumblr has long struggled against perceptions that its users don't create original work -- criticism that inspired, in part, the startup's initial decision to send more than 20 bloggers to New York Fashion Week in February 2011. Reblorg should help further that mission.
