Is This Tumblr's New Photo-Rich Redesign?

Social blogging platform Tumblr revealed a new homepage look for some of its users on Thursday with a photo-rich design very reminiscent of its new sister site Flickr

Tumblr -- which typically features a basic log-in page (pictured below) -- now shows a new photo every time you visit the site.

The news comes a few weeks after Yahoo announced it had acquired Tumblr for $1.1 billion. The move is expected to be a part of an effort to attract more users in the 18 to 24 year old age demographic and grow its social strategy.

Yahoo, which purchased Flickr in 2005, recently rolled out a new design for the photo-sharing site that aimed to breathe new life into the once struggling brand.

Yahoo has not yet responded to a request for comment.
