We also told you about an event called “the twitties,” which promise to award “the most interesting twists on 140 characters.” They're currently in "tally time." Well, add another voter drive to the mix. Host Sarah Evans has, circa September 26, assembled what she calls “The UNOFFICIAL Top 50 Tweeples to FOLLOW.” No joke, people. Or “tweeple,” to be in the spirit of things.

The inaugural Tweeples, open to submissions through 1:00 p.m CST on October 7, are rather drab, unfortunately. Nothing spectacular looking. Plain gray is how Evans is doing things. But that is somewhat due to the Survey Monkey session being employed. To spin it positively, there’s beauty on the inside...of the Twittersphere.

Categories include Art, Business, Entertainment, Environment, Technology, Fashion, Travel, Food, News, and Advertising (plenty of voting there, hm?) among others. Lawn & Garden seems a stretch, but it’s in there. Tweeples to Watch, too.
