From Kanye to Haiti: One Million People Have Used Twibbons

From interrupting your followers with Kanye, to voicing your displeasure with antiquated web browsers, to protesting DDoS attacks, Twibbons have become ingrained in the Twitter community as a way for users to show their support for a cause with their avatars. Now, the project is celebrating a cool milestone: one million users.

Beyond the quirky Twibbon campaigns we’ve highlighted at Mashable, the site has also been used for plenty of good -- we’re told that more than 90,000 people wore pink breast cancer Twibbons on their avatars during Breast Cancer Awareness Month and currently more than 24,000 are showing their support for Haiti. Overall, nearly 30,000 causes can now be supported.
