The Twin Peaks cast is, much like its fans, determined to make the show's revival happen with David Lynch aboard.

Mädchen Amick, who played Shelly Johnson on the cult favorite TV series, as well as other members of the original cast launched a site to encourage fans to band together in support of Lynch, using the hashtag #SaveTwinPeaks. The acclaimed director announced his departure from the project on Sunday.

The cast also released a video one day ahead of the 25th anniversary of Twin Peaks' premiere, embedded below, which features several faces from the past. In it, they take turns finishing the sentence: "Twin Peaks without David Lynch is like..."

Their answers are pretty clever and a treat for longtime fans. However, curiously missing is star Kyle MacLachlan, who was announced as part of the revival in January.

(function(d, s, id) { var js, fjs = d.getElementsByTagName(s)[0]; if (d.getElementById(id)) return; js = d.createElement(s); js.id = id; js.src = "//connect.facebook.net/en_US/sdk.js#xfbml=1&version=v2.3"; fjs.parentNode.insertBefore(js, fjs);}(document, 'script', 'facebook-jssdk'));”Twin Peaks without David Lynch is like…??” …we want to hear from you #peaksies#SaveTwinPeaks - brought to you with love from the cast of #TwinPeaksHere's our OFFICIAL TWIN PEAKS CAST run website! - https://m.facebook.com/savetwinpeakshttp://www.whosay.com/l/QVmapdkPosted by Mädchen Amick on Tuesday, April 7, 2015

Officially, the Twin Peaks revival is not dead. On Sunday, Showtime said it would "continue to hold out hope that we can bring it back in all its glory with both of its extraordinary creators, David Lynch and Mark Frost, at its helm."

Frost is still aboard the project as of last update, a fact that has prompted some to throw support behind his continuing the journey alone. That camp can be found over at #InMarkWeTrust. As they see it, only six of Twin Peaks' 30 episodes were actually directed by Lynch, so soldiering on without him at the helm is not impossible.

This is indeed an option -- one of many, in fact. Another is that this all works out in the end.

Too optimistic? Maybe. But this situation is, really, nothing but an old-fashioned staring contest. Someone's counting on the other blinking, right? But, truly, why bother with the theatrics? Make peace. Make TV.

After all, this couldn't have been what Laura Palmer (Sheryl Lee) expected when she said, "See you in 25 years."
