Twitter Brand Sponsors: Mashable's New Sociable Ad Format

Social media is opening up a dialogue between brands and the web community. This is better for brands: it creates passionate, engaged customers who share their good experiences with the world. It's better for the community, too: we get the opportunity to speak directly to the companies that create the products and services we use.

What about ads? Could they be more sociable as well?

Twitter Brand Sponsors is a small step towards our sociable ads goal. Here's how it works: a limited number of brands (and one charity!) looking to engage with the social media community can have their latest Tweets syndicated into the Mashable sidebar, and interested visitors can choose to connect with those brands on Twitter.

Our First Brand Sponsors

We think brands that engage in dialogue with the community are the best brands around: we hope you'll agree and support their social media efforts. Our first sponsors are:

@JetBlue - JetBlue Airways uses Twitter to answer all your flying-related questions, and post news relevant to JetBlue passengers.

@MailChimp - MailChimp, the email marketing service, is using Twitter for customer support, product announcements and to chat with clients.

Featured Social Media Charity

At launch, we've chosen to feature @RedCross to celebrate "March is Red Cross Month". This month is about celebrating the volunteers, staff and supporters who give their time, money and resources to the Red Cross, and those who donate blood to help save lives. That's a cause worth Tweeting about.
