For anyone who's spent time with Windows 8 or its doppelganger, the ARM chip-friendly Windows RT, this will come as welcome news: Twitter has a native Windows 8 client in the works.
Twitter's mobile account made the announcement in a Tweet posted on Tuesday.

Windows 8, which Microsoft officially released for public consumption last week, currently supports the Twitter-owned TweetDeck client. Users can visit the Twitter website on Internet Explorer 10 (desktop and Metro or Windows Design versions), but there's nothing that's specifically designed for Windows 8 (or Windows RT) gesture- and touch-friendly interfaces.
The other key benefit of a native Twitter client: any app developed for Windows 8 should be code-compatible with Windows RT and Windows Phone 8 (which officially launched on Oct 29th).
Twitter wouldn't offer any further comment or details when contacted by Mashable.
