After pulling the plug on outbound SMS for Canadian users in November of last year, Twitter is happy to welcome them back into the fold through a partnership with Bell Mobility for two-way SMS service.

Thankfully, two-way SMS will work the say way it does in the US, so users won't be charged additional fees (beyond carrier fees) for having their tweets sent to their phone. And even though today's announcement is just for Canada, Biz Stone's post suggests that the rest of the world should be getting good news in the near future too, writing, "Our recently hired Director of Mobile Business Development, Kevin Thau is working hard to bring full Twitter SMS to your country. In fact, he's in Europe right now trying to replicate our success with Bell Mobility. Stay tuned for more support all over the globe as we make progress. And fear not Australia—you're on the list too!"

To take advantage of the updated offering, Canadian Bell Mobility customers can activate their phone from the devices page and start fine-tuning their notification settings for the people they follow. Users will also want to make sure that they have the device updates phone option selected from the home page.
