Coincidence? An hour or so after we posted news about a study that indicated 40 percent of all tweets were pointless babble, new tweets stopped showing up in our timelines and in Twitter search.
Although we’re still able to update Twitter, new tweets from those we follow – both on the Web interface and in third-party apps like TweetDeck and Seesmic Desktop – have grinded to a halt. As of 8:15PM ET, the issue seems to have been going on for at least an hour.
No word yet from Twitter as to whether or not this is the result of a DDoS attack. We’ll update here when we learn more.
