Ever want to tweet on your iPhone 6 Plus while holding it on its side? You may be able to do so soon, as some users of Apple's larger-sized device have noticed the ability to use the app in landscape mode.

Twitter appears to be rolling out landscape view to its iPhone 6 Plus app so owners of Apple's phablet can browse their feed, messages and other parts of the Twitter app in a two-paned horizontal view. The update, spotted by users on Twitter and confirmed by Mashable, resembles how Twitter looks on the iPad and other tablets.

It's unclear if the update will be rolled out to all iPhone 6 Plus users. And as of now, the feature is not available for the standard-sized iPhone 6.

While landscape mode can come in handy laying sideways in bed or for power users who want to see more than one pane at the same time, it's not an overly efficient way to browse your feed. A tweet with an embedded image takes up a good bit of space allotted for tweets, so you only see a limited number of tweets at a time -- something power users know won't fly.

Although the move is likely one to boost user engagement, Twitter has developed a spotty record for its efforts: it recently retired the Discover tab and moved some of its functionality under Search earlier this year -- with hopes more people would use it.
