Here’s an intriguing story for a Friday afternoon. The inventor of Twitter – Jack Dorsey – is working on a new project, and provided the following sound bite while at a tweetup in his native St Louis earlier today: “I came back to St. Louis to find the next thing, and I found it.”
According to The Riverfront Times in St. Louis, Dorsey didn’t provide much detail, but added the new to-be-named project would focus on the same "three concepts (of Twitter): immediacy, transparency and approachability," though for a different target audience.
The tweetup took place at Webster University, and you can see some of the crowd reaction by searching the hashtag #jackatwebster
It’s worth noting that Dorsey relinquished the role of CEO at Twitter to Evan Williams last year and according to most reports, no longer plays a prominent role in day-to-day operations at the company. Thus, his new endeavor is likely much more than a side project and something to watch closely as more details emerge.
