Twitter user Paul Saarinen (username taulpaul) has made waves with his live coverage of the birth of his daughter Elle. This little one is going to be soooo into social networks before she even learns how to type.

The live Twitter updates were great to share with friends, if you're into that sort of thing. The fun (term used loosely) didn't stop there. Saarinen also managed to live stream some of the childbirth as well, using UStream's online broadcasting tools. While the hospital didn't have the best wi-fi, Twitter turned out to be the better option for capturing the event, and spreading the word immediately to friends. Man, these hospitals really have some catching up to do. We'll get Michael Moore on that immediately.

In related (kinda) news, UStream just announced a new programming line-up from TheStreamTV--Saarinen's birth coverage didn't make the cut.
