Even though the U.S. Men's National Team lost to Germany 1-0 Thursday in an intense (and rainy) World Cup match, the Americans will advance to the next round, because of math and Portugal's Cristiano Ronaldo.
Ronaldo scored in Portugal's game against Ghana, making the goal differential such that ... actually, don't try to understand it. Just accept it. It's kind of like time travel -- complicated to grasp, but bitchin' regardless.
Moments after the match ended, Twitter exploded with fans rejoicing in America's losing victory while simultaneously being very confused. U-S-A! U-S-A!
