'Man of Steel' Reviews: This Looks Like a Job for … Twitter!

With Man of Steel in theaters and doing monumental box office numbers, the film has quickly become the hottest commodity of the summer.

Reviews for the film have been generally positive, but there's also been plenty of criticism. While a few folks have called Man of Steel one of the "greatest superhero films ever," others maintain it's "worse than Daredevil." That's a huge disparity, so we took to Twitter, the most unfiltered Internet source possible, to find out how good this movie truly was.

Whether your opinion of the film was yay or nay, here are 20 Twitter reviews of Man of Steel in 140 characters or less.

Just saw Man of Steel. Eh. It's was like Superman meets War of the Worlds. Not even close to as good as Batman.— Michael Fabiano (@Michael_Fabiano) June 16, 2013

Whoa: Man of Steel was stupid as all hell. Good for visuals, bad for plot and common sense.— Simon and Martina (@eatyourkimchi) June 16, 2013

Man of Steel was good. But like every huge blockbuster movie of late, how can they ignore the HUGE death toll of innocent bystanders?!— Joe McClean (@Joe_McClean) June 16, 2013

“Man of Steel” isn’t a bad movie, it’s good in its way, but it is seriously humorless. Painfully humorless. Humorously humorless.— Gerry Conway (@gerryconway) June 14, 2013

From an effects standpoint Man of Steel felt like a mix of Avatar, Blade, and Matrix Revolutions. Had some flaws, kinda excessive, but good.— Michael Smith (@michaelsmith) June 14, 2013

Enjoyed Man Of Steel's relentless spectacle, and Cavill is very good. But it's humourless, and the ending is a generic CGI fest #manofsteel— boydhilton (@boydhilton) June 11, 2013

So, Nolan didn't like the ending of Man of Steel. I wonder if he realized the beginning and the middle weren't that great either.— Michael Moreci (@MichaelMoreci) June 18, 2013

Enjoyed the majestic carnage in 'Man Of Steel'. Great last couple of lines too. Also Zod did a move that made me pine for a 'Rampage' movie.— edgarwright (@edgarwright) June 16, 2013

Man of Steel was great, but I don't like how they just glossed over the 350,000 people MINIMUM that had to have been killed in that battle.— Erik Griffin (@ErikGriffin) June 14, 2013

#ManOfSteel exceeded all of my expectations. Bravo. And thank you, Henry Cavill, for finally giving us a great Superman. #blownaway— Brad Haugen (@hoogs) June 11, 2013

I feel like I was too hard on #ManOfSteel yesterday. I don't hate it half as much as I hate the Miami Heat. Or Satan. He's bad, too.— Robison Wells (@robisonwells) June 18, 2013

Man of Steel is still more realistic than He's Just Not That Into You, which has Justin Long turning down Ginnifer Goodwin.— JonathanDanielBrown (@JonathanDBrown) June 18, 2013

I'm so disappointed by Man of Steel. I don't know what I was expecting though, Superman is literally the most boring superhero.— Calvin (@aurosan) June 18, 2013

Man of Steel is enjoyable. Nailed the emotional conflict of Superman. Not surprisingly, both of Superman's fathers were excellent.— Jemele Hill (@jemelehill) June 16, 2013

I dont understand why Man of Steel has received negative reviews. Beautifully shot, robust storyline, great cast. Jerry Siegel would approve— Rob Ackroyd (@Ackersboy) June 16, 2013

Man of Steel: Fun, though I wish Zach Snyder would learn to hold the camera still. Cavill was convincing. #movies— Lance Ulanoff (@LanceUlanoff) June 16, 2013

Man of Steel was very pretty and very visually exciting but I think also very crap— Lex (@lexcanroar) June 15, 2013

Man of Steel is a big, spectacular, epic, loud, disappointing mess of a film that doesn't know when to shut up.— Jack Howard (@JackHoward) June 15, 2013

Man Of Steel: Besides the blatant product placement (like a fight inside an IHOP), the movie is a masterpiece. 10/10— Peter Rallis (@RallisP) June 14, 2013

Brandon Routh opens newspaper, reads negative review of new Superman movie, smiles, goes back to using newspaper as bed.— Chase Mitchell (@ChaseMit) June 12, 2013
