Like many Twitter mashups, the site is making use of hashtags. Using syntax like “#machine,” #reg,” and “#wait” with your Tweets, you can report the experience you’re having at different polling places around the country. Twitter Vote Report will then plot all of these, both on the homepage, which shows the most recent tweets containing the #votereport tag, and on a Google Map, so you can see where the Tweets are coming from. Thus, even if you're able to successfully cast your own vote without trouble, you can reply to others in your area that are having problems and try to help them along.
