Twitterfeed Floods User’s Streams With Old Blog Posts

Some of those who use Twitterfeed to automatically syndicate their blog posts to Twitter are getting an unwelcome surprise this morning.

The service is pumping out old posts, in many cases multiple times, in turn flooding the streams of those that follow users that use Twitterfeed.

Making matters worse, the Twitterfeed website seems to be inaccessible, so turning off the service is impossible, leaving users in a position of needing to manually delete tweets and apologize to their followers.

While automated posting is certainly a useful feature, this episode illustrates its major potential drawback. Meanwhile, we’re continuing to monitor the situation and will post an update when we know more.
