Doing a two minute mile on a bike or a motorcycle isn't impressive. Doing a two minute mile in a car trying to be a bike is.

At this year's Goodwood Festival of Speed, an event where a variety of cars and drivers race up an English Lord's long driveway, stunt driver Terry Grant set the record for the fastest two-wheeled mile in a car with a time of 2 minutes and 10 seconds.

The commentators note that after just one mile, the two tires need to be replaced.

To put the time into context, the fastest run up the 1.16-mile Goodwood course was 41.6 seconds set in a McLaren Formula 1 car. Grant averaged a speed of 30 mph, so not blistering, but not slow either.
