It’s time to rewind to the early 2000s.
UGG Australia, known for its comfortable, but not so fashionable sheepskin boots, launched the limited-edition “Classic Luxe Collection” on Thursday, updating the classic design to include a sleeker-fitting silhouette.

By making the new goat suede version slimmer and more contoured, UGG hopes to take the boots that went out of style years ago into a more fashionable option for consumers.
"We chose to offer a slimmer fit to our customers to give them more flexibility in their fashion choices," says Leah Larson, UGG creative director, in a statement.
With a growing assortment of shoes on the market, brands are realizing the importance of a redesign. This marks the first time in 37 years that UGG has re-imagined and completely altered their boots. This follows in the footsteps of other brands like Converse, which created a new version of the Chuck Taylor after 98 years.

We aren't sure if UGG was or ever will become fashionable alternatives to shoes and we don't recommend wearing the boots when you need to impress, but it's a step in the right direction.
The shoes will be available in three styles: Abree Short, Abree and the Karisa, at select retailers and Uggaustralia.com. They will cost between $250 and $295.
