On particularly stormy days, even the sturdiest umbrellas often fail to protect against howling winds and heavy rainfall, leaving you soaked and shivering.
Shaped differently from your typical triangular umbrella, the "Rain Shield" is designed specifically to combat torrential downpours.
With its dome-like top, the umbrella is formed using only a steel wire. An added side-flap made from "waterproof cloth" acts like a shield against water that hits the user from an angle, according to an official video.
After use, the Rain Shield can fold up into a small 7-inch (18-centimeter) diameter plate.
