Everyone is used to 2-column and 3-column WordPress themes, but sometimes you want something a bit different, maybe a little unorthodox. Well, they're out there, and we've gathered up 10 examples of odd ways to configure your WordPress powered blog.
BloxPress - While BloxPress may look fairly standard, it is powered by Ajax so that your readers can customize it to their liking by moving sections around, or deleting them from their viewing all together.
CSS Gallery - A very job-specific theme that allows designers to set up a gallery using WordPress to display all of their themes.
Kapikua - An artistic take on a theme with room for a large banner, and placement for Flickr photos. The theme is very graphic friendly as far as posts are concerned.
Mimbo - Highlight your entries, use only images, make your site feel like the index of a magazine.
News Print - Available both with and without widget support, this theme gives you three or four columns to give your blog a newspaper feel to it, complete with a customizable masthead.
Particles - Four columns of just brief summaries of your entries. Very minimalist, but excellent for allowing people quick access to your site with little loading time.
Potpourri - At its heart it's a standard 3-column theme, but the header gives you room to highlight articles with a slick interface.
Revolution Theme - This theme is not free, but it's one of the more polished themes out there. It comes in different styles to fit various styles of magazine and news sites.
Squible - A tall and uniquely organized index page that does the intro, followed by a tag cloud and then you get to the most recent entries. Would be good for an archival type information site.
