We typically make an effort in our lists to bring you free services, but sometimes the ones that do require you to pay are so insanely cheap, it seems silly not to do the upgrade and get the extra benefits. We've gathered up 16 from the "If you're using them, go for the upgrade" column. In most cases, you'll be happy you spent a couple of measly bucks for a decent upgrade.

Basecamp - Basecamp from 37Signals is a super easy collaboration tool, and while they do offer a free version, you are limited to only working on one project, and you get no storage space. For as low as $12 a month you can work on multiple projects and store some data on their servers.

CafePress - Have you opened a CafePress shop, and your one design is doing well? Did you know that with a premium shop you can sell as many designs as you want, and on even more product selections? It costs as little as $4.99 a month, but if you have some great ideas, that's a pittance compared to what you might bring in.

Flickr Pro - Do you find yourself running out of storage space for all of your photos? Are you running out of bandwidth each month? Flick Pro is only $24.95 a year and will take all the limits off of your account, as well as remove all of the ads you see while browsing.

Google Accounts - While GMail already gives you 6.4 GB of storage, and Picasa gives you 1 GB, some people need more. Google will let you upgrade with another 10 GB for $20 a year, or even go all the way to 400 GB for $500 annually.

Second Life - Though Second Life allows you to play for free, you don't get the really good stuff until you sign up for the pay accounts. With Premium account being as low as $6.00 a month when you sign up for a year, it's hard to say no to.
