The image of fancy people drinking from regular wine glasses has become such a cliche. Defy convention and look like you're too drunk to hold a glass properly with the upside-down wine glass.

The novelty glass comes from gadget shop Red5, which dreams of a world in which people don't conform to mainstream drinking vessels. While similar in appearance to your standard wine glass, a quick examination reveals that the rim is sealed off while the foot contains an opening you can drink from.

"We don’t mean to be rude but we bet that your glass cupboard is pretty boring," the product description politely explains. "Lots of standard glasses in the standard shape that you would expect to find in any home. The Upside Down Wine Glass is a revolution in glass design and will literally turn the world upside down."

While out of stock at the time of this writing, the novelty glass normally goes for £6.95 ($10.16). For best results, hold it over an expensive rug at a friend's party and wait for them to panic.
