With the upcoming addition of new conspiracy-thriller Dig to its roster, the USA Network is looking to prove it's done some major growing up.

While the network -- once known primarily for its sun-soaked action-dramas and zany one-hours like Psych -- recently expanded its programming offerings in major ways, with series like Suits and Graceland, Dig is truly something it has never done before.

From Homeland executive producer Gideon Raff and Heroes creator Tim Kring, Dig drops viewers into modern-day Jerusalem for a story that actually began thousands of years ago.

FBI agent Peter Connelly (Jason Isaacs) -- a man with his fair share of internal demons -- is the viewers' guide through the tale, during which he begins to unravel a huge, ancient conspiracy with some present-day stakes.

Anne Heche plays his boss and sometimes love interest.

In the 20-minute documentary, above -- available first on Mashable -- Isaacs, Raff, Kring, and Heche open up about the story and other narratives woven into Dig, providing a deeper look into the series' ambitious and sometimes exhausting overseas production.

Dig premieres March 5 on USA.
