User Generated Content in Virtual Worlds

PlanetGameCube reports that a user of the virtual world Second Life has sold one of his in-world creations to a real-world gaming company. The game "Tringo", a combination of tetris and bingo, was a massive hit in Second Life and this deal means that it will now also appear on the Nintendo Game Boy Advance. This is possible because Linden Labs, the company behind Second Life, allows players to own everything they create in-world. The growth of user generated content has been staggering over the last few years, and it's great to see that content creators are increasingly getting paid for their efforts.
