The online payment app Venmo allows you to make quick transactions between friends, roommates and whoever else might owe money.

As part of its mini-social network, Venmo has a feature that lets you leave notes describing what the payment is for. The thing is, the notes show up on a public feed -- creating a perfect source of entertainment for voyeurs.

While much of the descriptions include mundane stuff that you'd expect -- rent, bills, drinks from last night, so many Ubers and, of course, “pizza drugs” -- the feed gets pretty weird. Venmo users have caught on and treat it as a performance, filling out the notes with obviously fake or totally abstract comments.

The real fun is trying to figure out which bizarre but plausible transactions might actually be real.

There are also a lot of people who, apparently, sent payments to the wrong person with a similar name and would like their money back, so use Venmo carefully.
