Quoting anonymous sources, Digitimes reports that there is a shipment goal of 5 million to 6 million CDMA iPhones to be shipped to North America and Asia Pacific in the first three months of next year. Unlike AT&T's GSM cellular network, Verizon's network is CDMA.

Beyond that, there's plenty more evidence of the impending Verizon iPhone. For example, its imminent arrival gained credibility two months ago when The New York Times and Wall Street Journal reported that an Apple source admitted the company is adapting the iPhone 4 to work with Verizon's network.

Consumers are on board, too. There's tremendous pent-up demand for a Verizon version of the iPhone, with one survey showing that nearly half of AT&T iPhone users would consider switching to a Verizon version.

If the Verizon iPhone arrives, it won't be a moment too soon. There have been numerous complaints about AT&T's coverage, supported by a Consumer Reports survey showing AT&T running dead last in consumer satisfaction.
