Video Captures Scary Washington Bridge Collapse

More proof that the cameras are everywhere. The frightening collapse of a bridge in Washington State on the busy Interstate 5 was actually caught by a surveillance camera.

A huge portion of the bridge fell into the Skagit River on Thursday night after an over-sized freight truck struck part of the structure. The grainy video, obtained by AP, actually shows a large white truck moving through the bridge moments before a large section carrying two vehicles plunged into the river below. Miraculously, the passengers of all those vehicles escaped with only minor injuries.

According to an AP report, the truck driver noticed he hit something and had time to look in his rear view mirror and see the bridge collapse. It could be months before the bridge is repaired and travel in that part of Washington State is returned to normal.
