Insane Video Captures Inside an EF4 Tornado

Ever get stuck inside an EF4 tornado? No? That's probably a good thing, judging by this stormchaser footage posted to YouTube Monday evening.

The footage was taken by Brandon Ivey and Sean Casey, who drove their custom 14,300-pound "tornado intercept vehicle" into the heart of a violent tornado in Kansas to record nature's fury from the inside.

The pair clocked wind speeds at 150-175 miles per hour before "the tornado ripped the instruments off the top of the [vehicle]," per the video description. The footage is currently on the front page of Reddit.

Ivey and Casey are becoming known for chasing tornadoes in the name of science and for licensing their footage for broadcast on television news. The pair provided some of the most gripping images of the deadly storm that recently struck Moore, Oklahoma.
