VideoJobShop is a new site, launched by Real People Real Stuff, that lets employers and job seekers post videos online. Does that seem strange to anyone? Interviews are hard enough, so throwing a video in the mix would seem like a great way to pigeon-hole myself. From my experiences, an interview is a malleable instance that allows the job seeker to adjust to their environment.
But I'm getting ahead of myself, because the videos a job seeker would post online wouldn't necessarily need to be treated as an interview. For example, one video on the site is from a young woman looking for a job as a reporter, so she uploaded some clips from her internship at a local news station. OK, that makes sense. I was actually surprised to see the number of videos that have been uploaded to the site by employers, essentially making a commercial for prospective employees to see the benefits of working at their company.

Content is organized by region and by job category, and remains a rather simplistic search tool for seeking jobs and employees. There are no profiles per say, so if you do come across a video by a job seeker, there's no easy way to see their text resume, or any other videos they've uploaded. You can, however, leave comments (constructive criticism) and contact them about the job.
