Major League Baseball treasure Vin Scully, who called games that Jackie Robinson played in, will return to the Los Angeles Dodgers for his 67th season as a broadcaster for the team next year.
Scully turns 88 in November and first started calling Dodgers games in 1950, when the team was based in Brooklyn.

After news of Scully's return was met with deserved and predictable joy from Dodgers fans Friday night, the man himself played it as cool as ever in the broadcast booth.
"Our thanks to Dodger management for breaking the news, if you want to call it news, that God willing, we’ll all be back here next year. God willing," Scully says in the video below. "Anyway, bottom of the second inning..."

Scully is a New York City native who moved west with the Dodgers in 1958. It's in Los Angeles that his legend would grow. Calling both Dodgers games and national broadcasts, he guided baseball fans through good times and bad, World Series titles, perfect games and iconic baseball moments.
In addition to his sheer longevity, Scully's laid-back demeanor, wide-lens view of the game and a kindness that's palpable through the airwaves have made him more than just a play-by-play announcer to many fans.
"It’s what makes this game so great," he once told GQ of calling Bill Buckner's infamous error in the 1986 World Series. "You just can’t take anything for granted."
