Watch the Best Videos From Vine's First Year

For a mere one year-old service, Vine has had quite a wild ride.

It served as a news tool for journalists (and citizen journalists). It gained an unwelcome competitor when Instagram rolled out video in June. And it watched its parent company, Twitter, successfully navigate tech's most highly anticipated IPO.

Vine will celebrate its first anniversary on Friday, and prepared for the party be releasing an epic collection of the year's best Vine content Thursday. The roughly 200 videos, which total 18 minutes in length, include clips from musicians (Justin Bieber), actors (Joseph Gordon-Levitt) and President Obama.
