Virb, the social network from Unborn Media, creators of the widely-praised musical social site PureVolume, is opening up a private beta of their social network, according to a heads up we received from Mashable reader Rob Getzshman. Virb is a service that in early 2007 Pete wrote that it was "a major MySpace rival" that was "hyped... Seriously hyped." We haven't heard hide nor hair from them in quite a while, until this evening.
For those that have been waiting with baited breath, though, are now going to get a shake at trying out the new version of the service, if they're willing to put in the effort:
The purpose of the private beta is to help us squash bugs and work out any kinks before we go live. It is not a playground - there will be work involved. You will be expected to perform tedious tasks like uploading photos over and over and over, possibly while standing on one leg.
