Virgin Radio, a property that supplies content to both online and offline audiences in the UK, has been purchased, sans the brand name, from SMG, a Scottish broadcaster, to TIML Golden Square, a subsidiary of Bennett Coleman, to the tune of £53.2 million ($105.3m). Bennett is perhaps best known for its Times of India publication. The sale price stands £6.8m short of what SMG claimed it could find.

Mashable recently highlighted Virgin Radio upon the announcement of a partnership with coComment.

Bennett, in addition to its pursuit of the AM and FM licenses held by Virgin Radio, is reportedly intent on employing acquired assets to expand its interests into online media - music subscriptions, video delivery, and mobile-specific services. Virgin Radio presently offers a number of options to listeners within those avenues.
