Yesterday we got the preview. Now it's your turn to get up-close and personal with the decommissioned Space Shuttle Enterprise. It's housed in the new Space Shuttle Pavilion on the deck of the Intrepid aircraft carrier at Manhattan's Intrepid Air and Space Museum, which opens to the public today at noon ET.

The midday ribbon-cutting ceremony will follow a one hour ceremony where NASA officials and Intrepid Air and Space Museum representatives are expected to speak.

Admission to the museum, which is under a giant, gray, climate-controlled dome, is $6 for adults and $4 for kids (on top of your Intrepid entrance fee). Inside you'll find the big bird and an extensive exhibit chronicling the history of the Space Shuttle program. There's even a video narrated by actor/director Leonard Nimoy who played "Mr. Spock" in the Star Trek TV series and films. Nimoy was on hand for the arrival of the Enterprise to New York back in April.

For those anxious to plug the exact coordinates into your smartphone's navigation app, The Intrepid Air and Space museum, which is also home to a stunning array of aircraft (including the Concorde), is located at Pier 86 (46th Street and 12th Avenue) in Manhattan, New York.

Check out the video for an inside look and then get super-close in our gallery below.
