The latest bandwagon jumper is apparently Vivendi, with reports today that the media company plans to take on YouTube and MySpace.
The AP, via French journal Les Echos, says that Vivendi will launch a site this fall to to sell music, videos, TV shows and mobile phone content. The focus will be on mobile, it seems, with a launch in France, followed by a rollout across Europe. The company's new unit Vivendi Mobile Entertainment is responsible for the launch. Comparisons are being made Vivendi's Vizzavi portal, which bombed five years ago.
