Designer Vivienne Westwood, 74, is known for using fashion to actively speak about climate change.

Her spring 2016 collection, which debuted at Paris Fashion Week on Oct. 3, was entitled "Mirror the World" and was focused on saving Venice.

Venice is facing two crises that make flood control an urgent priority there, as the city is sinking while at the same time sea levels are rising due to global warming. This has caused fears that the city could one day succumb to floodwaters.

In a video for the collection, Westwood talks about the history and culture behind the iconic city.

“The problem there is one of repair but also of climate change,” she says. “In 12th century Venice...there were trading posts and they each belonged to rich families. It was the greatest flourishing of art that the West has ever known. Venice was an emporium of culture.”

In an ode to the city, Westwood dressed female and male models in eclectic Venetian-inspired garb. Models with face paint were a probable homage to the annual Venice Carnival where participants wear decorated masks.

Toward the end of the campaign video, the designer encourages people to participate in the people’s march for climate, justice and jobs (an effort to change more than one issue at once) on Nov. 29 in London.

Last year, Westwood stated that climate change had become her new priority over fashion -- something seen at her last few runway presentations. At Westwood’s Sept. 20 spring 2016 London Fashion Week show, the designer joined a group of climate change protesters to walk down the runway as a part of the finale. Her spring 2016 menswear collection also included the "Save Venice" message plastered on men's underwear.
