Volkswagen of America posted its November sales figures Tuesday morning, reporting a 24.72% drop in overall sales compared to November 2014.

In total, the company sold 23,882 cars in November 2015, compared to 31,725 cars during the same time last year.

VW attributes the sales drop to the stop-sale the carmaker put on its 2.0- and 3.0-liter TDI diesel models, in light of its recent emissions scandal.

A Volkswagen representative told Mashable that, before the stop-sale, its TDI models accounted for 20-21% of overall monthly sales. Adjusting for that, sales have dipped, but not as drastically as it appears superficially.

Still, the numbers could indicate that buyers have been soured to the brand.

This severe drop in sales stands as a stark contrast to October 2015 sales, which increased 0.24% compared to the same period in 2014.
