Vox has just announced the launch of Vox Groups, which allows Vox members to create public or private groups for sharing their blog posts, photos, videos, music and the rest. Groups can be public, invite-only or private, and the group owner can give admin access to other members. You can also permit other members to invite people (for invite-only groups). You can post media to your Vox groups from your own Vox blog by clicking ""Add to group".

Vox has also launched custom banners: users can upload a graphic to be the header image of their blog. You can then choose a custom color palette that matches your banner image. We hope this customization won't tarnish Vox's currently perfect design - we all know what happens when you give over-enthusiastic users a bit too much freedom (hi, MySpace).

As mentioned previously, Vox competes with Multiply as a privacy-focused blogging platform/social network, as well as traditional blogging platforms like Blogger. Vox also partnered with Nokia earlier this month to provide Vox on mobile devices (see Vox-Nokia).
